About Us

MY CO2 is an independent laboratory which provides vast range of analytical testing services internationally. Our laboratory facilities are capable in performing chemical, microbiology and physical analysis for toy, food, feed, fertilizer, drinking water, edible oil, petrochemical, industrial and pharmaceutical products. We are also competent in providing environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring program.

Our laboratory has been accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 by Department of Standards Malaysia (SAMM No. 384) which is also recognized by International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). Our scope of accreditation are more than 300 tests covering 18 categories which are substantially meeting most international regulation and requirements.

We will continue to maintain satisfaction from both clients and regulatory agencies and strives to raise the standard for the industry by being the premier laboratory service provider.

Health Certificate Testing and Free Sales Testing

We are an approved laboratory by Ministry of Health to carryout analysis for export orientated samples.Different product require different test parameters as most commonly is microbiological, preservative, and heavy metal tests. Microbiological test such as Total Bacteria Count, Mold & Yeast Count, Coliform, and other pathogenic bacteria are the core parameters. Heavy metal sure as Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic and preservative such as Benzoic Acid are common for Health Certificate Application and Free Sales Application. Our laboratory will ensure fast turnaround time to cater your Health cert application and Free Sales application needs. 1

Statutory Compliance

In order to ensure quality of our customer's product, we offer various range of statutory compliances testing services for:
Halal Food ComplianceToy Safety (EN-71 & ISO-8124)Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)Food Safety Management Systems (ISO 22000)Environmental Management System (ISO 14000)Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances Compliance (RoHS)REACH compliance 2

Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA)

Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) is to comply the Use and Standard of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health (USECHH) Regulations 2000, under OSHA Act.Based on USECHH Regulations 2000 all employer require to make an assessment of the risk of employees whom exposure to chemical hazardous to health in the shopfloor in order to determine an appropriate management as well as engineering control, measure, further training of employee, and monitoring and health surveillance activities as may be required to protect the health comdition of all employees. Our assessor are competent to conduct the CHRA for USECHH regulation 2000 compliance. 3

Environmental Microbiological Testing

Microorganisms are always present in food handling environments such as product floor. These microorganisms can be classified into two unique groups as transient and resident. Transient microorganisms are usually introduced into the food environment through air, utensil and employees. Normally the routine application of good sanitation practices are able to kill these organisms. However, if contamination levels are too high or sanitation procedures are insufficient and inadequate, transient microorganisms may be able to rapidly growth and multiply to become resident. Organisms such as Coliforms and Salmonella spp. and Listeria spp. have a well established history of becoming residents in food handling environments. Generally surface swab for employees' hand, utensil, bench and other areas probably contact in food during production processes are those ideal spots for surface swab. 4

Environmental Pollutant Monitoring

Production plant, construction site, transportation system will emit substances to pollute the atmosphere. All the discharge channels such as filters, scrubbers, chimney stacks, and exhaust blower under controlled circumstances must complied to statutory requirements. Similarly, the noise exposure shall meet certain permissible limit values during day and night.Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Waste Water Characteristic Study (WWCS) are also in our service lists. Our environment teams are competence to monitor O2, CO, CO2, CH4, H2S, NOX N2O, SOX, HCI, HBr, HI, HF, halogen, heavy metal, particulate matter, dust, PM10, PM2.5 and etc. We are competent to meet all requirements regulated by Department of Environment (DOE) such as Standard B for waste water quality and Standard C for air quality. 5

Industrial Hygiene Monitoring

Hygiene Monitoring program  is to quantify the employee's level of exposure to hazardous substances during their work hours. Sampling work will be carryout and the result can compared to official occupational exposure limits applicable nationally (USECHH Regulation 2000) or internationally (OSHA Act). Other hygiene monitoring program which provide by us are:
  • Chemical Health & Risk Assessment (CHRA)
  • Personal Noise Monitoring
  • Area Noise Mapping
  • Heat and Stress Monitoring
  • Vibration Monitoring
  • Respirable dust Monitoring
  • Volatile organic compounds
  • Asbestos, man-made & mineral fibers and crystalline silica

Bacteria & Viruses Testing

Without proper sanitation the harmful bacteria are potentially contaminate our foods. The pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella, Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Vibrio cholerae will cause serious illness or fatality and they are strictly prohibited by importing country.Whereas viruses such as White spot syndrome (WSSV), Taura syndrome (TSV), Yellowhead (YHV), are most commonly found in seafood. The WSSV was first reported from Taiwan in 1992, follow by outbreaks in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, India and Malaysia from 1993 to 1994 where it led to a virtual collapse of the shrimp farming industry in East Asia. 7

Chemical and Heavy Metal Testing

Heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium, tin and antimony are toxic metals and harmful to all leaving life because their accumulation over time can cause serious illness or fatality. European Union EN71-Part 3 (Migration of heavy metal) has strict guideline to prevent heavy metal such as lead migrate from toy to kids where lead is often use as shining agent in toy. The lead permissible limit in toy has been reduced to 50 ppm recently. 8

Drinking Water Testing & Waste Water Testing

Drinking water is water of sufficiently high quality that can be consumed or used with low risk of immediate or long term harm. If water is not potable where it had contaminated with pathogen and disease or excessive levels of toxins may leads to widespread acute and chronic illnesses. We provide accredited drinking water testing services to comply to Ministry of Health (MOH) 25thSchedule and World Health Organization (WHO) drinking water guideline. 9
